The home of Scottish rugby frequently hosts international sporting events and concerts, making it one of Edinburgh’s busiest and most exciting destinations. Getting to Murrayfield is a snap when you’re on the right transport!

Navigate the top three ways to get to the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium from Edinburgh city centre.

How to Reach Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium for Events

It’s roughly a 45-minute walk from the centre of the city to Murrayfield Stadium. But if you’d rather save your energy for cheering on your players or entertainers, here are the top three ways to get to Murrayfield.

Tram

While there’s no direct train to Murrayfield from the city centre, there are extra trams running on match days. With a dedicated Murrayfield Stadium tram stop right outside the Roseburn Street turnstiles, this is a popular choice for Edinburgh rugby supporters and concertgoers.

Buy tickets at any Edinburgh Tram stop kiosk, though it’s best to pre-purchase via the app to avoid long queues. There is also regular service from Haymarket Station, Ingliston Park & Ride, Edinburgh Gateway and Edinburgh Park Station.

Public Bus

These are various bus routes serving Murrayfield Stadium, including stops on Gorgie Road and Corstorphine Road. Both locations are just a short walk from the stadium, making them ideal drop-off points on major event days. You can also visit the Edinburgh Council website for any information about the bus routes within the city.
